My name is Nicole, I am an international student and I am third year student in ACAD with Media Art major (Time based). I write this statement in order to introduce myself, my goals and my inspiration about art. After three years studying in ACAD, I have been really inspired by my instructors and peers. In my first year at ACAD, I did not have any experience of doing art with digital technology, and I was not sure which major I should take. Therefore, I tried to take some different studio courses such as drawing, painting, glass, and media art. At first, I was really inspired by my drawing instructor - Ken Dewar when I saw some of his artwork he displayed in class for example. Therefore, after the course, I had created some drawing that I really proud of. I gained some drawing skill from my first year in ACAD. After that, I saw some exhibition about Media Art such as video, sounds, installation and it was interesting, therefore, I decided to explore the way to make art with digital technology.
In my second year, I took most of the Media Art courses, which I gained some experience working with sounds, video, and programming. I also took Animation course with Kevin Kurytnik, who inspired me by his animations and the technique that he uses. After taking his course, I had more the knowledge and idea about telling stories through art and animation.
I also had experienced in working with videos, and sounds from one of the media art course. I learned about some software and digital technology such as greenscreen, which I had never tried before. I feel it is very interesting that I can make an artwork by technology, which is very different from drawing or painting.
The most thing that I enjoy in my second year was one of the media course which I learned about programming and coding. I was really interested in this course because I got to learn the new technique to make art, which is coding, and I like it because the audience can really interact with my artwork by using mouse, keyboard or sensor, which completely different from the other art form such as drawing, painting or sculpture, which the audience only experience by looking. I think by interacting with the art works, the audience will be closer with the artworks and fully experience them. Therefore, I would like to take this Computational Art course and continue to explore about this technique. I hope after this course, I will have more ideas about doing art by programming, and I also hope that I my skill in this area will improve.
This is the final version of my bottle. During this project, I have some challenges when I took the measurement of the components because they are very small, so I think some of the components don't have really accurate measurement. I tried to create the text and the graphic for the bottle by using AI and export in SVG form but it ended up rendering very slow, so I gave up on it. But I will try again at some point. However, I really enjoy doing this project, and I like the look of it in the render view with all the material and color, it look accurate to my real bottle.

I start this project by creating the body of the bottle first. I have some challenge using Revolve tool when I have to revolve with an eye shape but I revolve with the circle shape.
